What does the expression “take someone’s word for it” mean?
Definition: accept a statement without evidence
Example: OK, I’ll take your word for it that your car is in good condition. But the bus would get us there just as fast, and we wouldn’t have to worry about parking.
Note: often used with “will,” as in the example
