What does the expression “big deal” mean?
Definition: an important event or accomplishment
Example: The new health insurance program is a big deal—insurance will be cheaper for a lot of people.
Note: This is often used sarcastically—if you say “big deal!” to someone, you mean “that’s really not so important!” These expressions are North American.
