What does the idiom “right-hand man” mean?
Definition: chief assistant
Example: I will be in Europe for two weeks. But anything you can need you can get from my right-hand man, Jason. He’ll be here.
Note: “Right-hand woman” is rarely used. Even if you’re talking about a woman, you’d be more likely to say “right-hand man.”
