What does the idiom “Tell It to the Marines” mean?
Definition:
I don’t believe you; you must think I’m gullible.
For example:
“You expect me to believe you have the money to buy a Porsche? Tell it to the marines!”
Notes:
This is rather old-fashioned, but still used.
